Assembly Bill 2512 will end charitable immunity in cases of child sexual abuse.
The law has already passed out of the state Senate and out of an the Insurance and Banking subcommittee of the state Assembly.
The final step before the Governor signs the law is to bring the legislation to a vote before the full body of the state Assembly. The Speaker of the Assembly in conjunction with the Majority's Office determines which legislation will be posted for a vote.
We believe we have the votes needed to pass the law, but -- it seems to us -- leaders in the state Assembly are delaying bringing the legislation to the floor for a vote by all Assembly members.
